Re: Helmets, Does Money Equal Safety?

This was posted on here awhile ago. Basically sums up my thoughts on helmets. I do not wear an Arai I wear a Shoei.

Me its all about fit and materials used to make it. I want carbon over polyurethane. Exsample: Why some HJC are 400 dollars and others are 150 dollars

Don't believe in mandatory safety laws for legal adults. I wear ATGATG, but I would not force another to.

    This.

Not to turn this into a political thread because so far it has been very informational and helpful, but I believe in personal freedom first and foremost. Im not going to tell you want to do anymore than I want you telling me what to do. I'm a proponent of survival of the fittest. If you don't wanna wear a helmet that's cool with me, you are the one that has to ride a wheel chair for the rest of your life if your brains get scrambled by a high side.

I'm all for safety and gear but each person should have their responsibility sense kicking in telling them to either be safe or deal with the consequences of your choices/actions, not a law telling you to do so...

Yeah the #1 killer in America, obesity, is a huge joke!!!! (Pun intended). Pretty soon healthcare will be a luxury nobody can afford...with thinking like this!

And I do work in healthcare so I am speaking from experience!

It's not because of helmets or anything else that people are doing with their health, even obesity.

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Whatever...I work in healthcare and see it everyday! You really think a motorcycle rider who crashes without a helmet and gets severe head trauma with hospital bills in the hundreds of thousands doesn't get passed down to the consumer? Well it does! Insurances have been raising rates steadily for years! Insurance companies are not here to help us but to make profit.

Then you think Medicare and Medicaid are not paid for by the tax payers?

    Now that is true

Really I don't mean to offend anyone, so I will just shut up about my health talk
