I really can't wait! I'm decent at braking and downshifting, my real concern will be corner speed.
But in all honesty, I will without a doubt be the slowest rider out there. I'm just hoping I have fun, improve, and don't make the day miserable for others by being in the way.
Oh boy, this is going to be great!
I know you're full of shit.....I mean piss and vinegar, but it must be said. One of the biggest no-no's of track riding is getting out of the way. You shouldn't even be looking back, one of the reasons for removing mirrors. Stay on the race line and let the overtaking rider go off line to pass. Please make sure you get some introductory instruction before you go out and let someone lead you around for a few laps to get some lines worked out.
And I am happy to hear you are satisfied with looking good out there, with your fancy tape job and electrical disabling skills, although I am not even sure they require you to tape up. But one little item you didn't mention on your preparatory list was coolant change, that one is really important.
Turns out I ended up breaking the Mustang last night after 1 session so my track fix is not complete, so I guess I am going to come out for this one. Can't pass up a chance to point and laugh!

Nope, I read it correctly and thus stated that his full of it!
I totally am full of shit, and am really worried about being in the way. It's one of the main reasons I put off track riding for so long. I know I'm slow, so I'm apprehensive. One-ops has offered to help me and probably let me follow him a bit, he's been super helpful. I haven't swapped coolant yet, but will tomorrow. I was hoping to avoid that, but I'll do it lol.
Yeah yeah It's All good man,We'll get you hooked up.
Dont stress about being in the way man. Only thing you have to do Is like Bueller said stay on race line and let the approaching rider assess when and where to safely pass. It's a trackday not a race. If a faster rider is passin like a dumb fuck let me know and it'll get handled. No stress this is gonna be way more fun then riding on the street.
You'll be fine dude, we all started somehow. Just keep your lines and it's good

Don't worry about being slow. My wife has done HPR on a ninja 250, and is totally in a panic on the street in traffic but did great on the track. Like I said, just hold your line and stay predictable and people will get around you just fine. It's when you become unpredictable that the issues arise.
The coolant thing is a safety issue for you and others. glycol on asphalt or spewing on your tires means a quick way to fall down and that'll ruin your day or those that are behind you. You can leave the distilled water and some water wetter in all season until the winter so you don't need to change back and forth for track days.
Oh Oh Oh I forgot
It trackday eve ....EVE!!!!
Kinda lost in the 14 pages of this thread. You guys going to PMP or HPR?
