Lost my job, looking for a new one!

I was a headlight restorator for a Longmont dealership and they decided to have their detailer take over what I was doing to save money.

I'm fully experienced in restoring headlights and have been doing it for 8 months. I was Valedictorian of my class and have a high work ethic. Honesty, customer service, and hard work are my priorities.

    Work experience.
3 months as a Security Officer for Securitas with Haliburton.
    8 months as a cashier/bagger for Safeway.
4 months as a Sales rep for Pacsun.
7 months as a Dollar Store assistant manager/cashier.

I have never been fired, only laid off/had to leave to military training.

I have a Security Clearance as well since I'm an IT specialist for my unit in the Army Resere.

    Can anyone help me?

It's a tough market right now, but it's loosening up. You will likely find a job soon.

Have you thought about a career? How is your education? You might think about working in the gas and oil industry; it's raging business in Weld County and it pays really well, but the work is hard.

If you're interested, you might look at Noble Energy; they have an office in Greeley and are probably seeking people.

Would you like help looking for your job? Do you remember the last place you had it?

Sorry I couldn't resist. Best of luck on the hunt.

He didn't really lose it, he knows where it is... It's just that when he goes there, there's somebody else doing it!

extra points if you can tell me the stand up comedian who said this... no googling!

Telling someone not to google something via the Internet is like saying "hey kid I'm gonna go in the other room so dont eat any of these cookies".

Yeah I'm getting my general classes right now before i transfer to CSU for mechanical engineering. Yeah I would have no idea where to even start for a oil/gas job! Sweet I'll take a look.

Yeah I've heard of them, I just don't think they can help very much. Do they really set you up with what you're looking for?

I'll keep your name in mind if I hear of people needing headlight restoration. Let me know your pricing for a set. Post up on CRN (ColoradoRacing.com) IF you do that as a side-business. No need to pay for sponsorship.

There are a ton of network and security jobs out there. If you have sec clearance you have an even better chance of getting in the door.

PM me if you got a resume you feel like sharing.

If you have a CCNA, there's no reason you cant have a job by the end of the week

Re: Lost my job, looking for a new one!

Make sure it's the latest or recent CCNA, the actual HARD one, not the easy shit from 10+ years ago (like mine is, lol). Luckily I already have a job, but if I wanted to find another, I'd need to redo my CCNA & CCDA. My MCSE is long expired, but I wouldn't do that again unless I was going into the I.T./Dev./DB side of things. Do you have that?
