Try a "Couple" IT recruiters. Definitely look for the ones who focus on military experience!

It might be painful & a PITA. You'll start low scale, but then build "civilian" experience. Then you start to network w/ more recruiters & the more experience the better the jobs.

Trust me man, the auto industry is not where you want to end at man. It is crap, I've been fucked for 9 years and wasted it all. Just cause you may not know what to do doesn't mean that you're not good for it. I'm going back to school for IT cause I'm sick of the auto industry and though I'm no expert in IT but if I set my mind to it I'll learn the shit lol

You would be surprised what you end up in.

I went to school for criminal justice. I had planned on being a cop.

I went to finance instead (Mortgage Loan Officer).

My wife has a degree in history, planed to go on to the law school (still might happen but we want kids now). She's a mortgage underwriter.

My point is you would be surprised at what your good at but you have to try a bunch of things to find out what you like (and more importantly what you don't like).
"If not us, who? If not now, when?"

Just a suggestion man but up to you. Working on cars is my passion but due to the dishonesty and the way of the business it's just not for me. Doing service writing now obligated cause I have 4 mouths to feed at home or else I would've called it a while sgo. Too much work for nothing.

I went to school for computer science back in the day. I hated computer and did not want anything to do with them. I dropped out of school and went back to working in a restaurant. Long story short - I have being in IT since 1985. I am not an certified expert in a specific part of IT (just ask J0ker ) but more of an all around person in IT. In a nutshell, I know enough to do a lot in IT but also know when to bring in a consultant. I break it and fix it. If I can't fix it, I always have a great backup plan.

Life will always take you in different direction. If it didn't it would be a very boring life.

The main thing in life is not to burn bridges. I still keep in touch with co-workers/friends back from the restaurant days to my current job (once again just ask J0ker).
