    Synching Throttle Bodies

My MOM says that I should synch throttle bodies at 5000 mi -but it looks like a complicated royal pain in the butt (buying or building vacuum gauges, removing the gas tank, shrinking your hands and fingers down to toothpick-size and snaking through a birds nest of wires to find the vacuum lines for each cylinder, etc.)

Does anyone know of a good, reasonably-priced mechanic or shop for this?

Once you get the vacuum lines it's not all that bad to be honest. And building the vacuum gauge isn't bad at all. I built a very nice one capable of two, three, or four carbs in one night with $20 in materials.

    Re: Synching Throttle Bodies

We use an old school mercury(GASP!) synchronizer. Far more precise than even the best gauges, and works better than the PC new school fluid ones. Synchronization has essentially zero effect past about 25% throttle opening, but makes a real difference in idle quality and cracked throttle operation.
    Thanks, Jim
