I've had similar happen. Taking a rock like that might CAUSE an accident if you didn't have a helmet on, and then the accident could finish you.

Maybe that's also the reason the Hardley guys never actually put on any miles? Taking all that sun, wind, sand, etc., is just too painful to ride more than 20 miles to the next bar for some more anesthetic?

Don't even get me started on the cruiser crowd's rides that seem to go nowhere other than from one bar to the next.

I hit a hard-shell bug outside of Gunninson on Hwy 50 at 75. It took a chip out of my helmet shell. Might of knocked me cold without a lid. 1-ops, Supercamp will cure your sliding issue.

I think what happened to my friend might have inspired me to buck up ($400) for a new lid. Mine's an old RF-1000 that's probably 6 years old or more. Looking at a white RF-1100. Anyone know of any sales?

A buddy and I were cruising around to the different shops around Denver just this past weekend, He was looking at the RF-1100's and Performance on Broadway had the best prices by a decent amount. He got one from there. Forgot what he paid though, low $400ish I think. (he paid $469, but it was a little more because it had the higher graphics)

They have 'em at Performance Cycle for about $395, most solid colors. Gonna get me another white one.

Actually, I like it because it's the most visible, matches most of my bike/gear, and because it's the coolest in the summer. Flat black scuffs too easy for me.
