    Are my boots repairable? (picturs)

Behold! My Alpinestars SMX Plus boots.

Last year Alpinestars discontinued the magenesium toe sliders. They've since brought them back and I ordered 3 sets but last summer I had no choice but to use the plastic (shitty) toe sliders and this is the result.

These boots have also seen 5 seasons of riding.

Do you think Alpinestars can repair them or is it just time to get a new pair? STG has SMX Plus boots on clearence for $298 currently

Call them and they will creat a number for you then you send them in, and basically build you new boots at a fraction of the cost. I had my zipper replaced for free, Chad (cornfed) sent his in for new soles and paid a small amount.

Send them now though it takes them awhile to do.

Oh and stop dragging your toe and put your damn feet on the pegs there they belong!

I would prefer to have them rebuild them but I'm not sure if they can. It's more then just replacing the sole of the boots, I've grinded into the structural part of the boot.

Do you think I just hang my feet off and drag the toes? I ride on the balls of my feet and still seem to grind away on the sliders.

For some reason it didn't show my post...
But I vote you buy the other pair and send that pair into Alpinestars. If they can do something, great, now you have a broken in pair and an extra pair for later.
If not, you have your relatively cheap new pair!

I think this answers your own question. If the structural integrity is compromised, personally, I'd opt for some new boots. In the event of a crash, you want your gear to work to the best of it's ability.

Might be time to reevaluate your riding technique?

    Of course.

    I ordered a pair myself. That's how I knew.

Thanks again for the recommendation Grant. New boots arrived today

An these boots don't squeak! My old SMX plus (and everyone else I knew with the same year) had a squeaking problem when you walked around in them.

I love new motorcycle stuff! How much horsepower do you expect to gain with those?
Its not how fast you go, its how little you slow down.

    5 per foot, minimum.

One shitty thing I realized. These must be the 2011 models, my magnesium toe sliders do not fit these. For 2011 alpinestars changed the size... I don't think I can get magnesium sliders in this model

    They are 2011 models.

    I like mine as well.

Funny you mention the squeak. My brothers 2010's squeak, but my 2011's don't.

Re: Are my boots repairable? (picturs)

They stopped selling the magnesium toe sliders last year (discontinued but became available again recently). The unavailability of the magnesium toe sliders is the reason my old boots wore out
