    Sad farewell to my SV650

So I had to part last week with my sv650s... She was really good to me. She will have a great new home soon enough.

To help me with my loss, I got a 2003 SV1000S!!! BOOYA!!!
I'm not sure why I didn't upgrade to the liter bike before.

Here's a few pics that I took and the seller took:

Too much power is JUST enough.......especially at this altitude. People forget that. I bought my '01 new at sea level. HUGE difference. If I whacked the throttle open there at 5k or above the front end came up so suddenly I was almost bouncing my helmet off the tank. 1000's are like 750's here, and 600's, well......

    Congrats!

Thanks man! I have noticed the front end is ready to come off now. I struggled to keep up just around town with my friends gixxer750 but not anymore. How do the 1k's run at sea level? I've never rode a bike at sea level.

Compared to the 650 it's truly day and night difference. If you are a new rider, I would recommend the 650 to start. It's a great bike to learn on, develop your form. I was on my 650 for 2 1/2 years before upgrading. In the canyons the 650 is amazing. The low end torque cannot be beat IMO.
The 650 is ~72hp and 1000 is 120hp, so that also helps show the power difference.
Riding the 1K is effortless though. Looking down I was coasting and didn't even realize I was going 90. With my 650, is struggled and was at high RPM's doing 90 and didn't have a lot to play with above that speed (not that you really need to be going 100)and had to really push it.

I believe it's bone stock but I'm going to replace the chain here soon so I may gear it while I'm there. What were the results of yours?
