Despite a few nigglings here and there, I enjoyed the Bike Nights that I was able to attend at Mountain Tops. Granted I'm not overly picky to please (Beer? check. Food? check.), but the bike washes were fun and the service "issues" [from sexy young girls no less...] were no better or worse than any other place that Bike Nights have been attempted at. I do agree that they didn't fight hard to defend the decisions about "sectioning" parking and "bikini washes", but they tried to have them... they got push back... and at the end of they day, they acquiesced. They don't need us, so in turn they don't need the fight; I get that.
Short version: Keep Bike Nights near the DTC. Maybe Mountain Tops will miss us when we're gone and their novelty subsides a bit. It wouldn't be a bridge I'd burn entirely.

I would agree with what you say. I'm far from the 'expert witness' as I only attended one (1) B.N. in the past three years --- the main reason being that they are too fucking far from where I park my bike(s). So in the end it really doesn't matter who the hell sponsors the damn thing or the location of said event. My pattern will continue well into the future............

A few things. While everybody hates the phrase "you cant fight city hall" to a great extent that is true. While you can talk, request, petition, and even take legal action the fact is until the city or a court rules in your favor the city does have the ultimate power all the way to putting you out of business. Is that right? I don't think so but that is not a topic for this thread, that just is the way it is. Second, it was not bike nights that caused the issue. It was the Saturday bikini car washes that started it and we just got caught up in the ruling. Third, Twin Peaks is supporting us, their legal team has been fighting but it just doesn't happen in a few weeks. Hopefully by next spring they can get the city to reverse their decision.

IMO TP is played out. And thus why I haven't attended the last couple bike nights. Service is meh, food is meh, food selection is less then meh. To keep things interesting bike night should rotate between a couple different places. That said, I know it takes some work and don't know the logistics behind doing such.
I've got more flavor than a packet of macaroni.

Being "Fay Myers 2 Wheel Tuesday" I doubt you will see them sponsor a bike night further away from their shop then this one. I'm sure that they don't give a shit about catering to demographics further than a ten mile radius.

Bottom line is, no one will ever be happy with any Bike Night. Our service on Tuesday was the worst it's ever been... anywhere, but complaining to Jim won't do anything. The parking thing has been discussed before, and it's not Fay or TP's fault. Jim and Fay are getting people of like mind together in one place. Jim has been doing it for years and doing an awesome job in getting people together.If people keep nit picking every little thing, eventually we won't have bike nights anymore because everyone will be tired of the complaining. I know if I had to go through years of people complaining about things that I couldn't control, I'd stop doing them, makes you feel like you aren't appreciated. But maybe that's just me.
Again, thanks for everything you do Jim. I know being the MRA VP, plus putting together a race program, working a full time job AND putting these things together doesn't give you much time for personal things, so thank you.

I am sorry for reashing, but is there a schedule for this year yet or did they eventually cancel these bike nights, I remember talks of the locals getting pissed about the bike nights. Weather is fairly warm so I assumed they would be starting these this month
