    Trail Ridge Road? Do-able?

Looking to get out and ride all day and noticed Trail Ridge Road opened up on Friday. I'm new to the area and the article states that it still looks like winter up there. Should I hold off or go for it?

Im guessing you're going to find a lot of sand up there.

A few members rode over today. Maybe they'll post up when they get home...

    Just got this from CDOT:

Closed: US 34 Trail Ridge Road due to refreezing snow melt. Expected to reopen, Monday, 5/26.

Call 511 or go to COTrip.org, or CDOT Mobile App for info.

I personally would wait a few weeks to hit Trail Ridge

We went over Trail Ridge today, it was fine. The worst part were all the tourists and sudden stops for moose sightings.

Was there the usual 6' snow drifts on the side of the steaming road?

Yeah I made it out to Walden from FOCO and decided to turn around and hit up stove prairie and rist canyon instead. Just too much traffic. I'll definitely be hitting up that loop in a few weeks though.

Once section had 12ft drifts, but the road was dry save for runoffs. The visitor center was still getting plowed out, so that parking lot was closed.
