Black Canyon - Friday 6/28/13?

I'm thinking about taking off Friday from work and riding the Black Canyon. This is the same route as the upcoming Firecracker 500 next week (July 4th).

500 miles - figure around 12 hours of riding. The pace is "the pace" which is more about making good timing.

I'm leaving from Colorado Springs but I could meet someone from Denver in Buena Vista (which is 100 miles from either COS or Denver).

The ride to Buena Vista is kind of boring (Highway 285 from Denver or 24 from Springs) but the other 300 miles is pretty epic.

This looks like a great route (Peeked at the map link from the firecracker thread), and I'd love to join. I'm out on vacation from 6/28 through 7/8, but if you do another one after I'd definitely be in!

I was planning to do that route (clockwise) a couple of weeks ago...wimped out and stayed the night in Carbondale. Turned one long day into two nice relaxing days.
