Yesterday I had to ride over to Frisco and deliver my bike to the guy who bought it. I decided to take the opportunity to run over Loveland Pass and snap a few pics before giving it away...

Why'd you sell it?
Or he wanted something that can actually use a front tire. Mine doesn't touch the pavement until 3rd gear.
Well, my KTM broke before an annual Deal's Gap trip I take and so I was just looking for motorcycles on my "that'd be fun to try" list and I happened upon this bike the night before we left. We then decided to move to CO after the trip, and while it's an excellent sportbike, it's very focused and I couldn't justify keeping it unless I could track it a fair amount. Given the move, I just can't do that, especially after considering the liability of throwing it on the ground and the proposition of $40 days at IMI on the KTM. To be perfectly honest, I'd be lying if I said I didn't think about the implications of a crash at 170+mph.
If money was no object, I'm sure it's a track weapon. I was surprised by how well it did given it's weight at Deal's Gap proper, which is much lower speed, and the power is just insane once you get out into something more open. Pretty much everything about it is phenomenal. The suspension is excellent. Minor little details, like the set-screw in the rear spring collar that makes it so much easier to adjust the preload than the twin ring kind, are just little bits of engineering gold. Almost everything is perfect. The brakes are the best I've ever ridden and have tons of power. The acceleration, especially at lower elevation, is just mind boggling. I wish it had a hydraulic clutch and the wheelie control sucks, but the package as a whole is just so well done that there's no denying it's an epic sportbike.
This was the first bike with clip-ons that I have ever owned and it was very easy to get on and get comfortable. That says a lot to me and I thoroughly enjoyed my time on it.
This is my favorite series from the trip....
You pretty much described it spot-on, I couldn't agree more on every point. And while the wheelie control is very poorly programmed, it is truly addicting and a lot of fun. I love the pogo-stick of the front end though the fist 2 gears (3-4 if I could be at sea level!).
I haven't had mine on a track yet, nor have I put a knee down (Not for lack of trying). Put simply I don't ride it close enough to the level at which there's no room for error or road inconsistencies, so the fears of a crash are slightly lower. Your reasons make perfect sense, and props for having the maturity and self-control to recognize them. Badass series of pictures, I wish I could get a knee down!
It was just a joke... Definitely one of my dream bikes.
