Well there's your problem

My 4Runner was totaled by a hit and run. State Farm paid me the negotiated value, I bought it back and had it fixed. The title was never affected, and they continued to provide full coverage after I submitted the completed repair orders to our agent.

That's what we've gotten worked out, the "titled as regular" was their odd way of saying "It won't change"

I think that's the key, you have to show them it has been restored to a repaired state. They never told me I could do this, although I'm sure if I asked it could have been done, I got rid of it pretty soon after that anyway.
