No ma'am. Sitting on it the bike feels comfortable. I'm told that I make the bike look "small"

Well you're not a small guy, you make the second largest motorcycle made, aka the mothership, look like a middleweight dirt bike

    Re: 2014 Yamaha FZ09 Triple

Pretty sure the 09 RMCP had is sold. Aaron and I were out for a ride this afternoon and we saw the same FZ-09 with temp tags ride by on Hwy 24 around 21st street.

Apex (2 or 3 weeks ago) said they were getting 3 in. One in each color and a 3rd Demo bike.

So congrats on whoever got the FZ-09! Hope you're on CSC!!

On another note, Mrs. Clovis reconsidered the FZ1.

Still trying to decide between that and a Street Triple R or Speed Triple R. While walking the dog tonigth I figured out what my hesitation over the FZ1 is.

The FZ1 is powerful, comfortable, capable, can tour. I loved my FZ6, just wish it had more power.

And that's the problem. The FZ1 is a safe bet. It's like marrying the girl friend you've been dating for the last 6 years.

The FZ09 / Street Triple / Speed Triple are all that new and exiting girl that wants to tempt you away but in the end might leave you broke and broken-hearted. (read: maintenance cost on Triumph triples).

My Dad's triple hasn't had any problems yet (Just 1900 miles), and the maintenance intervals are so long he hasn't needed anything yet either.

Guess I am making a trip to Apex to test ride the FZO9. I right now am at a toss up between the FZO9 and getting a GSXR 600, I test rode one and had trouble wanting to get off, I am unsure though of the sitting position for long rides.

    Yeah, and that's you're dad.

When you ride 3000 miles per month, valve checks come up quick! They're $1100 for the triumphs apparently versus $250 for the Yamaha which goes 24k miles, every other year.

12K miles between checks on it, probably going to be pricey when you need it done though.

Nice bike and fair price. Anything Italian is expensive when it comes to parts and maint.

Italian bikes are great at admiring in your garage. They are not meant to actually be ride unless you like regular tear downs for service.

    Re: 2014 Yamaha FZ09 Triple

I remember watching a show shortly after this bike came out with that weird guy from the car shows with the big handle bar mustance and his son and one other guy touring Europe on them. Love the look. Id be doing all the work on anything regardless so it'd be more of a time deal. So I'll just need a lot more bikes to ride during tear downs and time to do umm in. It'll be a min. any way so I'll like to see how this Yamie comes along. I wanna ride some stuff. Need more then one though for differant things. My 6 isn't the best long ride bike that's forsure.

    Re: 2014 Yamaha FZ09 Triple

One way or another I'm getting a new bike. It looks like it's going to be a '09 FZ1 out of Denver that's in great shape and already set up with a Givi top case, exhaust and flush turn signals. I'll look at the FZ-09 again in a year or two. Part of my hestitation is paying full MSRP + dealer handling when I know I can get the bike with 5000 miles a year from now for at least $2k cheaper.

The other bike I'm looking at is a red 2012 Street Triple R at Apex with 2500 miles listed for $7500. Wet weight is 404lbs on that guy!

You for sure need a bike with a taller peg height!

Why do these naked bikes continue to have a banana seat? I like my '12 S'tripleR but the banana seat.. not so much.
