Yes it will. But given the weather and no riding i am looking forward to it. Food, none required. But yes we will stop or at least I will. Maybe in woodland park or colorado springs. Depends on route, or we go to Aarons or Canezach house for lunch.

You can stop in Westcliffe for lunch. There's a pretty decent restaurant in town. Give me a minute and I'll see if I can find the name.

ETA: after a quick search, I'm pretty sure we stop at Sangrita. There's also restaurants in Canon City.

Canon City is nice that is a really far ride for a single day at least from up here in Denver. Were we planning to make this a single day trip there and back?

It really isn't that bad. It's no different than me riding up to Estes or Lyons

You got it, Sangritas is the place to eat in Westcliffe. There's also a nice pub in Cripple Creek called "The Creek" that has good burgers.

If the group meets at Moco and takes 285 to Pine Junction you should make it to Woodland Park in roughly 1.5 hours depending on the pace. From there it's probably another 45 minutes to Cripple Creek. If you KSU at 9am, you should make it to Westcliffe by lunch. I'll plan on joining the group in Woodland Park.

I posted a link earlier in the thread, but here it is again. I omitted the moco to Woodland Park to Cripple Creek section because I was fairly sure most of us have done that. http://goo.gl/maps/evoat

The return trip can be done several ways. Most people, like myself, will likely take 96 to 67 to Florence and then the 115 back to the Springs. You had mentioned going all the way to Rye, and if that's the case then I suppose you'll be slabbing it back to Denver. Just so you know the North Colorado Springs I-25 corridor is under construction and is almost always backed up until just outside of Monument. So you can either brave the traffic and slab it, or retrace your steps. But I'm sure that's something that can be discussed at some point during the ride.

Getting closer.....so far the weather looks like it will be nice. Look forward to meeting you Drano and Aaron in Woodland Park. Also it would be some good pics from biikChic. We will be taking Decker to Woodland park and hooking up with the riders from Springs and then ommiting Cripple Creek and following the route that Drano posted. Depending on how long this takes, hit I25 home. Now, we will be meeting in 2 spots, I will be at Golden Starbucks at 0830 for those who live up north and to get a coffee and then swing by Moco about 915 am because I know or think Kyle lives in Aurora and biikchiq. Or we can just all meet at Golden to make less confusion. My cell number is 7192054148. Let me know if you plan on attending.

I suggest leaving earlier than that. There's people that leave at 7 am for this ride and don't find their way back into the area till about 6pm. I'll see if I can attend, gotta clear with the boss first since she hates giving me saturdays off. Always wanted to do this ride but never been able to, maybe my buddy steve will let me stretch the legs of his R1 that's been collecting dust in his garage.

I will not be going either, I will stray around for a later KSU for a much shorter ride or stay home and do some house work before winter rolls in

Just as a heads up, the weather forecast is predicting snow in the mountains this week and a high temp of 58 degrees on Saturday. If you're still set on making the ride happen, be sure to dress warmly. I have very little in terms of cold weather riding gear. If it is as cold as they are predicting, I'll likely not go.
