    Bandimere on 10/2

I'm heading up to see if I can crack off a 12 second quarter on my Zed. Anyone else want to come up?

    Re: Bandimere on 10/2

Arrived at gate open and I got in a dozen runs, 8 of those before 6PM. My previous best was a 13.0 at 109 with a 2.5 60' My goal was a 12 something. Since last time I hacked the airbox and dropped my front sprocket from 15T-->14T
    1st Run 12.8@109
    3rd and best was a 12.58@111 w/2.1 60'

I had one more 12.5 and a several 12.6-12.8 runs and managed to keep my 60' under 2.2, a few missed 1-2 shifts resulted in 13.0 runs. I'm unsure if the 14T sprocket was the main reason my 60's got better or if its because I got the balls to launch it much hard or both.

Overall I'm happy and probably done dragging this particular bike.

Congrats on your new personal best. Thats an awesome improvment from 13 to 12.5. I would say that the sprocket and some good riding had alot to do with it. Also in the fall months the air is alot better which helps making more HP and getting quicker times. Bandimer is at about 5800 altitude but the effective altitude/air density during the summer air is arouind 8800 ft. During the fall months the effective altitude drops down to around 6000-7000 ft

My last time out was similar weather to start, my best then came late in the evening when it was high 60's, tonights was almost right off the bat when it was still upper 70's. DA was about the same I think. I know the gearing helped with the bog at the line as did me learning to slip the clutch more and letting the front unweight some without backing off.

That looked like a nice smooth run. Just FYI for every 1/10 you can shave off your 60' time it will save you 2/10 off your total et. Those are some good et's especially on a 750.

Thanks, I'm fairly familiar with racing, just not on the bike. I used to bracket race my Grand Prix, took 1st at the Grand Prix Gathering in '99, '00 and at Pontiac Southern Nationals in '00 also. I'm really working hard on the launch for the exact reason you said, at this point I think I'm going back up on the 9th to just give it one more shot and watch my friend run his late model GTO. I'm really happy with this bike, bought on a whim and has turned out to be a great ride for what I needed.
