    89 Honda Hawk Carburetor question

I was cleaning some '89 NT650GT carbs yesterday and came across a question. The front cylinder wasn't getting gas, but the rear cylinder was. So I cleaned the front carb then decided to do the rear at the same time. In the picture is the float valve from the rear. There is a little pin that sticks out of the top under the wire holder (away from the rubber point). On the front carb, that pin moves in and out easily. On the rear carb, the pin is solid and doesn't move. Anyone know if the pin is supposed to move or not? If so, what problems would you see form it being stuck?

Pin should move freely, it is spring loaded.

If it is stuck in the extended position, it will shut off gas too soon. Fuel level will be too low in bowl

Funny that the carb with the sticky pin works and the carb with the fine pin won't fill the bowl...

There's a screen on the inlet side of the seat that the needle goes into. Chances are good that it's clogged with crap. You'll need to pull the seats out to clean them properly.

This stumps a lot of people. I have found it plugged on a couple carbs lately. I found it by accident myself...
