    Paint shop recommendations (again)

I know this is somewhat beaten like a dead horse but I am looking to have some painting done on the bike I just bought. I contacted Chip Magic but the price is ridiculous, so there must be a massive inflation on the cost of painting nowadays as this seems very high.

I bought a 2005 Ninja 636 in lime green and wanted to paint a few pieces below:

Chip Magic quoted $600 to paint the pieces above. I have set myself a budget around $150 (which yes I know is low). If anyone here actually does painting or knows a place that can do these for that price I listed let me know!

I called Travis, seems like a very nice guy! He gave me a good quote that is within my budget. He is going to stop by my house tomorrow which is actually very nice of him as I wanted to also show him some color sanding work I would like done and also the SV that I lowsided last year so he can quote me on that as well and some paint work on my car as well possibly.

    Thanks for the information UGLYDOGRACING!

I mentioned this forum and told him that uglydogracing referred me over, he says he remembers you but couldnt remember the name. But he enjoys referrals and would surely hook you up on your next paint job he says!

    Re: Paint shop recommendations (again)

Nothing at all. Hell my bike is all white right now!
Just saw the thread title and thought I was gonna see some nice paint jobs showcasing some good shops. Not to say they didn't do a good job on your bike I'm sure its much nicer then my peeling dipped street shit but its just a bit on the plain for a race scheme and wht isnt all that hard imo.
Idk just think the recommendation was probly good enough or at least better pics of the paint. What did they do that you value quailtiy wise about it and the how'd the process go overall and how much was it for what. That type deal you know!?

They never looked like that when I was 13. You're just getting old...

The one in black in the middle is young looking I'll give you that..

    Re: Paint shop recommendations (again)

I was able to get my fairings painted by Travis as recommended by uglydogracing. The guy was excellent to work with and put forth an excellent effort on all of the painting I needed. I can tell he has a lot of experience and works at a paint shop painting semi trucks.

There was an issue with the paint color because supposedly Kawasaki green is damn near impossible to match and requires you to buy the ridiculously overpriced paint from ColorRite off their website which would have put the job way out of my budget range and I wanted to get it done inexpensive. So he had a shop scan my cowl 3 times to keep tinting the paint as good as they could to get it to match. Only in the right reflection can you see the difference but in other views you would never know. So honestly I am very happy with how it turned out.

I would easily recommend him if any of you are looking for any small paint jobs or even big jobs if you have a race bike and are looking for it to get painted. I actually am going to have him fix my rear bumper damage from getting rearended on the freeway last month. He has done work for others on ths forum as well and does tons of side jobs.

    Re: Paint shop recommendations (again)

I did try Chip Magic, they wanted $600 to paint the 6 pieces I needed. Travis did it for a lot less than that, he also has a decal machine and made the Kawasaki decals for me as well. Thanks again to uglydogracing for the recommendation. Id say even if you have a small job or a lowside or just need some small pieces thats good as well. He has a whole setup in his garage to do it. He can do bodywork as well, which is great since my lowers had some cracks in them and a n extra hole in each one that he patched up for me.

Good stuff, may give him a call for my extra bodywork that has been collecting dust.
