Wanted: Common Sense Engineer for Loctite, Inc.

I hope I'm not the only person absolutely blown away by how confusing threadlocker can be. It's a good thing I'm a genius and a half, it takes one to figure out which one to use.

Loctite and Permatex are two completely separate companies. So, I doubt they confer with each other. Just sayin'...

I'm pretty sure they are divisions of the same company...at least they were when I was in the auto industry.

The Permatex Company has a New Owner

The Permatex Company was sold to Loctite Corporation. The business was moved to Cleveland, Ohio and integrated with the Woodhill Chemical Company. In the late 1970's, Woodhill Permatex launched Permatex® Blue Silicone which went on to become the largest selling blister carded

chemical item in the American auto parts business.

Permatex said it was the biggest mistake they ever made and they split in 2001, if I remember correctly.

I'd say the biggest mistake they ever made was putting their red thread locker in a blue bottle.

It's this kind of plot twist that would have actually made The Matrix movies worth watching!
