I went with a friend at a later time, we passed you fellas going the other way. I was on the black gixxer wearing black/white leathers. My buddy was on a bmw k1300 rocking black/yellow leathers.
Our group saw you guys turning off of 285 onto the Decker's road. The group in this thread was already down 285 by the time you came by.

Your crew have a good ride Sully? I got weirded out by the gravel on the return route. The strip of reddish dirt, a few right hand turns on the way back. That stupid patch shows up while you're already mid-turn!

Deckers in between the general store and the trail head parking area always has sand in the middle but generally only on the north bound route (heading towards horse power hill). The sand comes from the shoulder and and cars drive around the corner their rear tires catch a little bit of sand and deposit it into the middle.
It's there every year so after awhile you just expect it and know which corners to go slow in.
