    Steering Damper Required?

So I was thinking about trying a little racing (bc god knows I need another hobby ) and I was eyeing the Colorado Class for my 690 Duke. I also noticed that "Steering damper is required and must be in good operating condition" was part of the tech requirements.

Is that really true of all classes\bikes? Seems kind of silly to put a damper on a bike with 31in bars that tops out at 115.

The damper does a lot, even if you think it isn't. My R1 was hittin' the chicane at 2nd Creek around 90mph. After installing the damper and turning it to the lowest setting, because I don't need no stinkin' damper, the bike felt the same but was going through the chicane at 115mph. Even if you think it isn't doing anything, it is!!

You should get one for your dirt bike, where it does make a big difference.
