Hey Everyone, been riding for about 5 yrs and moved to Colorado about 3 yrs ago now. Bought my 06 R1 stock and have been adding tasty bits little by little. Went on the group ride last Sunday, which was a blast by the way. Met a few forum members and hope to meet more as the season goes on. Would post up a pic but for some reason I'm unable to get it to load even at resizing the image.

Welcome. You have to host your pics elsewhere you can't upload directly.

Re: New Members - Introduce yourself here! (NEW thread)

    Hey guys,

My name is Brandon. I rode with the club back in 2000, yes its been a loooong time. I had to give my hobby up due to financial reasons. But here I am 15 years later with the itch (again) and unfortunately older, but fortunately wiser .

Its great to see some familiar names here and also great to see how much the Colorado Sportbike Club has grown.

I do have an MSF course coming up here on Aug 10/11th, mostly to get my bearings and confidence back and to hopefully learn some new things. I've already got my new baby waiting for me. She's an 08 CBR1000RR with 7k miles, runs and looks beautiful. Starting over again certainly brings back memories of excitment yet nervousness.

I'm looking forward to meeting you guys. When I rode with the club back in the day, I believe we only had the one meeting spot at the Starbucks on County Line Rd and Quebec (near Highlands Ranch). Now I see the club has grown into different metro areas...thats awesome! I'm currently living in Reunion (Commerce City), so hopefully I can find those of you in the area to do some rides with.

    Cheers,

    Brandon

Hey One-ops, is this Sunday just a one off planned ride, or do you guys typically meet on Sundays? Unfortunately I won't be able to make this Sunday. I promised myself to be patient and just get through the MSF course first.

We typically do sat. Last couple weeks have been sunday. Sometime we do both days and even after work for a few hours.

I figured that but hang out with us after the ride. Redline has a thread for it for this week.

@ One-ops - right on man I'll check it out. Can't make Sats as I work, but I'll head out on a Sunday for sure.

@ Sully - I'm going through Full Throttle - they hold their class over off of 104th and Ura (basically 104th and I-25), near where the Mike Shaw Subaru dealership is.

Barn - thanks man. I think I remember riding with you a couple of times. You had an R1 back then didn't you?

I sure did; two actually. I had a 2000 R1 that I eventually put in the parts bin due to my failed stunting career, and then I had a 2004 R1 [Britney] that I couldn't keep a drivers license long enough for to enjoy. =)

Glad you're back... We'll catch upon a ride sometime soon hopefully.

Hey Sully, the two day class was great! Even the weather wasn't too hot. The first day was a bit overcast with light showers, and the next day it was just overcast. We did have young guy go down on the first day unfortunately. Luckily for him he can retake the class at no additional expense.

It took no time at all getting reacquainted with riding. Thus far I've been out a little bit on the CBR just trying to get used to the bike. It'll take a short while for me to get my trust back in my own skills as well as that of the bike, so any, 'long distance', riding is out the question at present, at least for the next few weeks/month. There was a decreasing radius turn at the intersection of 96th and Highway 2 near my house, that about scared the bejesus outta me..lol. Its just gonna take some getting used to again, and then I'll start to venture further out.

yes, the bandit has been a great bike, and at nearly 89,000 miles, a solid 70k of which were mine I think i got my 1700$ worth out of her. The honda however, has made riding fun again.......
