    IMI impressions...

Had a fun time at IMI today. First time there. I was actually really impressed. Go-kart tracks I'm used to seeing are usually much shorter. It was a fun challenging little track. It seems there's so much to do there in one little area, plus Paintball.....

I met Slo, and saw Drama on the track, but was too lazy to walk over and introduce myself. A lot of bikes were out today, I'm sure several are on here. Good people out there, I actually felt at home... haha.

Feel like I was being watched now....hahaha. Rockerphotographer did you ride the track? I will agree it is a fun little track and the staff make you feel at home when they see you again. You werent the the father to the 8 yr old who was talking smack to me about how girls get tired faster and I should just let the boys ride. Little monster....I went back out there after his comments.

oh Wow... no didn't have any kids there. I was in white leathers on the ugliest bike out there. Sv650, looked like a cafe racer because I don't have any bodywork.

I just saw a black gsxr, so assumed it was you.

It was me....I seen you. Your bike is not ugly...I liked the look. I think you seen me as you went past me once and then twice and then the third time and then some little kid on his little trike with training wheels.....haha

But what all do you have to do to a stock sports bike to ride on their track?

I think the only requirements are shoes and helmet. Maybe pants?

From what I know It's jeans, helmet, boots, gloves. Of course a suit is highly recommended as jeans will not hold you up in case of a shit eating contest lol

Gloves or some sort, helmet, and motorcycle jacket of any sort is their minimum requirements... and a reminder of no bike prep, just ride it there the way it is.

It's $40 for the street track all day, $15 for each dirt bike you bring in all day.

This is good to know. I've always wanted to try the track out, but have been too much of a wimp to try. Didn't want to get leathers until I knew I can handle the cost and dedicate time to it.

I could care less about the type of motorcycle or brand, as long as it gets me to my destination with a smile on my face.

You'll want leathers if you fall down. Honestly I think anyone that skimps on protective gear is stupid.

I understand. I have been looking for a set just never thought I could actually get myself onto the track.

If you're actually looking at getting quality pants or jackets from the store start scouring the Internet for used. More bang for your buck and a set of leathers isn't that far out of reach.
I've spent more on crap I don't wear than the good items I do.

Watch this and tell me you don't want leathers on the track.
    http://youtu.be/P6h2gF0Ki5c

I walked away from this with a sore foot from the bike landing on my inside foot.
I am usually doing about 55-60 through this turn.
I picked up these leathers used (1 time) for $400, on WERA. They survived very well.
