Uglydog you probably know the answer to this one as well, along the lines of a tuner. I was looking for someone who is good at adjusting the suspension. I talked to Kim-n-Dean and they talked about this guy who was a magic man at suspension tuning and would charge $20 at the track and did great work but that he moves to Texas or something. Any idea of who is as good as he is for the same price?

No, the person they speak of is Marcus McBain.

UHATEIT - why don't you adjust your suspension yourself? There is some good info out there from guru's like Dave Moss and Max McAllister.

Dave Rose worked with Marcus when he used to travel here IIRC. What Dean was referring to was the quick "bounce" adjustment and was his "feel" method. It was also for race track conditions which are much different than street setup. Set your sag correctly (which may require new spring(s)) and you are halfway home. As Jim mentioned there is a lot of info out there if you want to spend the time and that is the way to save $. If you don't want to invest the time then you will need to invest the $ and probably substantially more than $20 if you want it right.

Re: Good Colorado Race Bike Tuners?

I have set it to what I found to be the best and used different websites and reviews from people in the same weight group as me with the same bike. It's pretty good at this time, but Dean had mentioned that guy that did the bounce trick at the races and made things golden after his adjustment and charged $20. Was just curious if that guy was still around or someone like him. But it's set pretty good even now.
