Hey yall! I'm gonna go for a ride on Thursday (7/3/14) late afternoon if anyone want to join with. KSU at 3:00pm at the 7/11 in Golden.
Plan: Golden>72 (Coal Creek)>Golden Gate Rd.
It's a weird time to ride, but most cagers will be at work by this time, so the roads should be pretty clear.
I'd like to ride moderately fast and safe if there's such thing. Though when it comes to group riding I'm a conformer.

My bike is @ Sun for a 4K service. Hopefully I'll get my bike back by then.

How quick is quick? And I don't mean pace, but how long does this ride take? I have to pick up my kids around 5...might be able to push it to 5:30, but seems awefully tight.

You could certainly go up Golden Gate Canyon, north on 93 past Rollinsville and Down the 72 and back to 7-11 in about 1.5 hrs or less. Just a thought...Going all the way up to Lyons will add consider amount of time.
I was thinking the same... Maybe join, but bail early and/or take a different route back.

Jim, we can do Golden to 72 like Troy said and you should make it back in time to pick up your kids. You live in Littleton so you'll be cutting it kind of close.
I know how you feel Generic, I get out of work at 2pm and it'll be the start of my weekend, that's why I want to go for a ride. Come out by 3pm if you can.

Well you can actually do that ride in approximately one hour if you ride at a fast pace.

Riding a motorcycle is a risk worth taking for sure. But what I mean by unnecessary risk is passing on blind corners, excessive speed on the straights, etc... You guys know what I mean

O and if anyone is gonna be late just give me a call (303 929 7292) and we can wait for ya. Instead of flogging it to meet the KSU on time, like I've done a few times before, I think it's a good idea to post cell# if you're gonna setup a ride, just in case, you know.

About 1hr from Golden and back. Hopefully by ~4pm there won't be too much traffic when we part ways.

What's pace going to be like? Something relaxing or should I plan on full suit?

Lets make the pace relaxing to start the 4th weekend. I like to get on the gas for the twisty turns and just cruising for the straights. That way we can still have fun and minimize the chance of getting a ticket.
