    Ride Sunday 8/10

Putting a feeler out there for a ride tomorrow. Planning on meeting at MOCO at 7:00 and KSU by 7:30 because I hate traffic...

Route will be Bear Creek up and over to 285, out to Jefferson, down highway 77 past Tarryall Reservoir, into Woodland Park, and back up Deckers.

A few of us rode this last weekend and the road to Tarryall is absolutely spectacular, if you haven't been down that way before you're in for a treat. I know it's the weekend and everyone likes to sleep in but I promise it will be worth the effort.

Pace will be spirited but reasonable. Let me know!

Thanks for making it out everyone, that was a pretty damn good day of riding in my book, leaving earlier was definitely worth it in terms of saved frustration.

Nah, not yet, still turns to beat up asphalt around like mile 30 I think? Then eventually back to that old reddish pavement which is still pretty smooth and clean. Is that the plan so far as you know, to get the entire thing paved nicely?

    AFAIK it is.
Last year it was basically a gravel road from a few miles South of the reservoir to about where CR31 comes in.
Huge holes and broken up asphalt.
They were working south from the reservoir at that time.. closer to 24 and Lake George is fine... average country road pavement.

I was planning to run up it in a couple weeks.. guess I'll take a scouting mission one day prior.

According to the website, the construction was supposed to cover that area, and was to be complete Oct last year.

FYI, going south from Jefferson, it appears to be about 27 miles of fabulousness followed by 7 miles of total crap, followed by 7 miles of acceptable old asphalt.

Yes! It was a great day of riding. Let's find some new cool roads to explore. I really enjoy Hwy 77. Makes me wonder how many other gems are out there waiting to be discovered...

I took a ride out 77 today; its in much better shape now than last year, and the road crews were working on patches on that bad stretch.
