Deckers Ride Saturday 10/4/14

[UHATEIT]

Not many good weekend days remain before its not good roads for riding in the mountains and they start busting out the gravel and road salts. This Saturday says high of 73 here in Denver and 0% chance of rain. I'm interested in a ride to say Deckers but go through Deer Creek, perhaps Turkey Creek, and Foxton on the way there or back. Any interest post up!

I'd say a KSU from MOCO somewhere in the 9-10ish time seeing as its getting colder so we could allow it to warm up, get the ride in and on the way back tackle some wings at Willy's Wings in Morrison! This place for those who don't know what I'm referring to:

We can leave MOCO and do deer creek on the way to deckers. The. Foxton back and then turkey creek on the way back to Morrison. Ultimately ending in some wings for sure.

As of right now (Friday at 3:45 p.m.) Accuweather says 54f @ 9:00 a.m. and 59f @ 10:00 a.m. for whatever that's worth

You should spend a little time on Google maps. It's pretty easy to find a road that looks interesting, then zoom in to see if it's dirt or paved. Map out some new roads, then go for a solo ride to check them out. Even though group rides are great, it's also fun to spend some time by yourself, exploring new routes. Then, you can show them off to your friends on the next group ride and look like a genius!

Yeah it will suck to be so cold in the morning. I would prefer 10am KSU, but whatever you guys want to do. Moreso so that we can get a warm up of the pavement and air before we start heading up. Dress warm for sure!

I sent some google maps to nguyen to show him different routes. I saw Deer Creek to Conifer and then Pine down to Deckers, but then do Foxton back up and then either try out turkey creek and back to 285 or just hop over indian hills and down Bear creek to Willy's Wings for lunch.

I haven't been down there much at all, only 2 times I think. I gotta look farther south on the map more, and I didn't know google has topographic map until now

I see hwy 67 at Deckers on map and looks awesome for twisties but it's mostly a dirt road. People take their dirt and dual sport on that road?

It's actually paved for about 10 miles along the river if you continue straight on 97 and then take a right for a little 3 mile stretch of dirt on Pine Creek Rd, to take you back over to 67 where it becomes paved again all the way to Sedalia. And of course if you continue south on 67 from Deckers, it's paved all the way to Woodland Park (but I'm pretty sure you've been on that part before).

Nope, I haven't been to Woodland Park before I've just been sticking around P2P and Squaw lately. The farthest ride I've been on was that RMNP ride that you led. I got to get out farther and see more of CO lol.

I'm out for tomorrow, forgot that a buddy's bachelor party is tomorrow and it's kind of an all day deal. I may ride but it will be much earlier than 10.

How about a 10am KSU then. Allowing more time to warm up. We dont have to go balls out. Just get in a good ride out to Deckers. Then back for some lunch around 1pm ish. Since you've got a long ride in Nguyen that should give you some time to sleep a bit in the morning.

Because last week I had to pass a total of 10 cars in 500 miles.
Oh and Clovis I like foxton better because of 0 cages. ☺
