    Need a job - Drafter

Hey everyone, lost my job of 10 years on Monday, so looking for something new. If anyone knows of companies looking for a drafter, please let me know. AutoCAD 2010 is the latest I've used. Been working on post-tensioning in concrete slabs (bridges, water tanks, parking garages, etc) for the past 10 years. Before that I drafted telecom systems for 6 years. I've done some project coordination as well. Thanks all.

Sorry to hear, most times it seems tough breaks lead to a positive change in ones life direction.

Do you remember where you saw it last?

While looking for myself, I came across this... http://www.careers.ch2m.com/worldwid...obid60920BR_47

Thanks man, but they are looking for Microstation operators. I haven't messed with Microstation in a LOOOOONG time. I worked for CH2M Hill for a bit, excellent company if you can get on with them.

Well, I would bring you down here if we were hiring.

First, think I would do is go here: students.autodesk.com. Sign up and you can download any Autodesk product for free.
Second, I would go here: www.cadlearning.com. They have online courses in 2 to 8 min videos covering anything Autodesk makes. It is 50.00 a month but you have access to everything they teach. they can also get you certified in the different products if you want. But most jobs do not require that.

Revit and Civil 3D are currently in high demand, I would start there.

Many recruiters around town will have plenty of connections mostly with oil and gas because they seem to be hiring everyone right now.
Hit me up if you need anything more.

Damn, John, that sucks!!! You can go straight to the AutoDesk site and download everything without signing up for anything. They are fully functional trails for thirty-days. Not sure what Randal's site is. Maybe they don't expire.

I've spent over $12,000 on hardware and software this year, just to have the clients who had me buy the stuff take a walk. Fuckers!! I was sweating bullets for a second and a huge, beautiful oppotunity came about. Dave is right, sometimes shit turns to gold!!

Wow! Three years use for free. That's a trip. My AutoDesk subscription costs me over $1,000 a year to keep it. I won't be renewing it anymore. AutoDesk can kiss my ass!!! They really screwed the little guy when they stopped upgrades and went to subscription only.
