    2015 KTM RC 390

I am seriously contemplating picking one of these up, what are your thoughts on this bike, for a single cylinder sub 400 cc bike it looks like a fun ride and a good little track/commuter bike?

Duke 390 will be here too, $4999. Also, Honda has a new naked CB300 for $3999.

All the reviews I have read said it is a sweet little ride. Has more HP than the CBR but about the same TQ. I am certainly interested but want to check one out in person.

To ride in the mountains and the highway on all day rides or just to work like 10 miles or so?

I used to ride my ninja 250 in the canyons all the time and usually led on groups. I even rode it 2 up and it did ok. It will kick ass in the canyons, just not a rocket on the straights. Only those that can't ride corners will worry about that.

I was going to say something similar, but then decided if people want to be limited by their thinking it's best to leave it that way...

    Re: 2015 KTM RC 390

Ya the more and more research I do I think it would hold its own in the canyons. Blown away in the straights but makes up for it in the corners. Either way I can't wait to add it to my collection I think it will a be a unique bike to ride that not many people would even have on they're radar. The U.S. Has the mentality of bigger = better but I see the sub 500cc market exploding over the next few years.

    Re: 2015 KTM RC 390

Yea you can ride up front in the canyons with a 250 (or in this case, RC390), but if you're doing a ride like peak to peak it's best to hang back because that's where I found myself holding people up.
I was going to suggest this bike to someone who is looking to get her first, but it looks like a nightmare if you crash

Biggest reason I'm getting it is to learn to ride the track. But I think it will still be a blast around town and canyon corners

My 400 sumo is great fun in the tight stuff (think Lookout Mtn.) and around town. Much suckage on the highway, but not what she's for.

I wonder when aftermarket and KTM power parts will start to show up in the U.S. Market. I haven't been able to find much other than a few things overseas.

    Re: 2015 KTM RC 390

After talking to the dealer I would highly recommend anyone on the fence about it at least put the deposit down. Apex in the springs is only 50 bucks to get on the list. I know there are 2 of us for sure so far. But from what I heard there will be limited quantities of rc390's available.
