I have a 2013 BMW S1000RR. I am getting a full Akrapovic Exhaust for it and that'll be the extent of my upgrades for increasing hp. Honestly, I am just getting rid of the stock exhaust to save weight and be able to fit race fairings on the bike. The catalytic converter is the size of a bread box and prevents you from mounting a full legal belly pan on the bike.
I am not looking for a tune that will push the bike to the razor thin edge of absolute hp/tq. I am fine with keeping it conservative and safe because I will still be using the bike for long distance rides.
I am not sure if the stock Bosch ECU is capable of adapting its self to the increase in volumetric efficiency with the new exhaust and get it back in line with the stock fuel trim settings. Anyone on here know? I've had no luck on the S1KRR forums.
If the stock ECU is not capable of keeping it self from being too lean or rich then what are the best options for tuning? A piggy back system, ecu flash, handheld flash equipment?
Who in Colorado should I trust to tune my bike?
