I'm happy to report I am the proud new owner of a 2010 Ducati Multistrada 1200 S! (Sale of my 09 Yamaha FZ1 with lots of upgrade to be posted "soon").
I've wanted a Multistrada for awhile now and I began (seriously) looking to buy a Multistrada back in November and I came across two 2010 MTS 1200S's with similar farkles (add-ons).
One had 7K miles, full termi exhaust, Ohlins semi-active suspension module and a lot of carbon fiber dressing but they seller wouldn't come down below $14K.

In my opinion, at $14K this Duc MTS is overpriced even with all of the add-ons. I thought value was closer to $12K so no dice, seller and I were too far apart.
Then I came across this other 2010 Multi with 17,400 miles, same full termi exhaust/race ECU and instead of carbon fiber 'bling' it has a lot of little Rizoma parts. The only thing it was lacking was the Ohlins suspension module but I found one on Craigslist for $300 so this bike was looking pretty good!
Last week I was going to be in Denver anyways so I contacted the seller and checked out the bike but lacked a way of getting it home. So on April fool's day no less, Mrs. Clovis and our daughter River made the drive with me from The Springs to pick up the bike.
Unfortantely, the weather turned sour (rain) so I didn't get to take the fun way home via Moco to Deckers. Just a straight shot down I-25 at 6 o'clock, on wet roads.
First impressions: The ride home was my first time riding a Ducati, period. It's quite comfortable and I'm really looking forward to seeing just how well this bike handles the canyons! Switching from an inline 4 Yamaha to this V-Twin in all it's low-end torque glory brought a smile to my face! I've never owned a bike that would just straight up power wheelie without the need to "clutch it up". Oh yes, the fun we will have this summer!!
Too bad we have a busy weekend so I won't get out to ride it until maybe next weekend (or this week if I can sneak out of the office for the afternoon!!).
I can't wait to meet up with the Ducati club and ride around for an hour and then sit and bullshit somewhere for 2! Haha, just kidding -- I'll be screaming with joy in my helmet like a madman!
