PMP 4/26 Races or Track Day

    Yo!

Is anyone here planning on making the round 2 of Rocky Mountain Series races? Street and race bikes allowed.

Myself and Dennis Stowers will be there, even if not enough people show up to race then we get a full track day so win, win. Figure it will be a good way to get myself yet a little more prepped for the upcoming MRA season and of course to have some fun.

Show up and have a great time if ya love riding motorcycles!

It's about a two hour drive for us which isn't too bad.

I wish I could but over spent some funds and low for bike related activities. I will be out there during June at the latest, but hoping for May.

All of us that live in Denver and surrounding areas are really lucky to have access to all the different types of tracks with the farthest at 2-3 hours away, and the prices. Although not necessarily cheap, a true bargain comparing with some of the other tracks around the country.

Is PMP pueblo right? Is it a competition day or open day? How much to race?

PMP is Pueblo. Without a membership, which is $60 I believe, the first race is $160, $40 for second, third and I think $20 for fourth.
Or if you're a member first race is $120, same for the rest.

If the races don't happen you just automatically get a full track day instead, $150 (I'm sure she'll give a refund on any extra you spent)

Never been there for road course, just drag. Is it a decently paved track? I know they re did it in the recent history....

Re: PMP 4/26 Races or Track Day

It was recently paved and super nice on tires! That's part of why I love going there, clean my tires up after HPR or PPIR. You should definitely come out and ride! Pueblo is a super fun track, if you need help with lines you can follow me around for the practice or a session if it's a track day. White plates tell me I have really good lines

Pavement is good and track layout is fun. Just gotta nail your line for the front straight. Can get sketchy if you hit the rubber from the drag cars.
Hope the weather is good so I can make it out.

The temperature never rose much over 45F and there was a often present mist blown by a significant cross wind. They let us start in what may have been called a lull but, it was full blown icy-raining by the last 1 - 1/2-2 laps. Despite the weather, the sprint portion did happen and everyone came back in right side up. Could've used a much better base layer. Absolutely freezing at the end.

What ambulance service was there? Was it Western ambulance?

No bus at the track. Judy said response time from closest fire house is 6 min which was as quick as an on site bus.

Re: PMP 4/26 Races or Track Day

Ahh I thought it was the Western guys. I went to a training class they had a while back. I thought I heard them mention the were doing these events.

I'm not sure how an ambulance 6 minutes away is as quick as an ambulance on site.

Pretty easy to die in 6 minutes. + the time it takes the cornerworkers to radio in for help and the office to call it in

I've never seen an ambulance take anywhere near 6 minutes to reach any part of the track when the ambulance is posted on site. I disagree with Judy bigtime on this

Re: PMP 4/26 Races or Track Day

Ummm Judy is on crack, sure as hell doesn't take the EMT's at the track 6 minutes to get there. About a minute the most at HPR, sorry to say but a track that doesn't have EMT's on scene is not safe and they're not concerned about safety... definitely even more means for me to never do a track day over there

WTF? Puff puff pass... same response as someone within walking distance from the track, sure, makes sense.....

I hate hearing this. What's the deal, does is it cost that much to have one during events?

About $1000 per day for one ambulance staffed with 2 EMT's.

Re: PMP 4/26 Races or Track Day

Can't afford an ambulance because no one goes to the track and if they had a mandatory ambulance the track would go under then we'd be down to two tracks.... until PPIR goes under too.

More people go to PMP = ambulance comes

Although I was under the impression that the ambulance was supposed to be there for races, it was at "round 1" so maybe it skipped this round because she anticipated no one coming out due to the weather?
