Hey Slo. Too bad we missed you. I actually thought the ride was pretty good despite the traffic on the way out. Thanks DriverDave for leading. Seemed like less traffic on the way back.

And yeh. I'd definitely be up for a early morning depart next time.

Yeah definitely let me know if you do an early ride, I hate battling the cagers one after another on the way in or out of town.

I would've been the only douche bag with a Duc .... definitely planning on early rides this summer, would hate to get stuck on traffic.

Well if riding a Duc makes you a D-bag it was a regular D Bag convention in Deckers today. 1190 Fest.

Just made the comment cause I've heard it from a few other riders I've bumped into these last few weeks. They said and I quote "Man, you're not like the usual douche bag Ducati owners we bump into" shit was funny as hell when I was talking to these dudes... I guess Ducati owners are that bad? I just got the bike cause it was a steal and looks phenomenal but I'm a regular Joe and will love Yamaha for life haha... Deckers is central for a lot of Duc owners for sure

Not too bad. A few washouts on Highgrade, and some dirt near the bottom of Foxton from shoulder work.

damn sorry to hear you guys got stuck in traffic. Our route ended up being really good. Only had to pass a few cars the entire ride up until we headed towards Boulder from Nederland.

We ended up going through morrison, up to evergreen, through blackhawk, and then to Nederland. I'm honestly not too sure on the roads that we took, but if the destinations give any indication all of the roads that we took were nice and clear. Almost no gravel. It was cool meeting some of you guys today.

I don't think all Ducati owners are D-bags. Of course that would mean that I am a D-bag and I tend to think better of myself. I would say the stereotype comes from remembering the few that stand out. Also the Ducati brand has the potential to attract the attention whores out there. There is usually an indication of personality once you give the person a few minutes of conversation.

I mean I have an opinion about Prius drivers but I'm sure not all of them are in my way

The specific Duck groups are a different breed from what I have learned. I don't fit in with them. Don't get me wrong I get along with pretty much everyone but I enjoy some people more than others as a lot of us do. I've always explained the guys I ride with as "leave early and be as transparent as possible" We have ridden together so long and done so many things together that it's more of a family feel than a riding group. I'm not sure I would even know how to handle a group ride where I was unfamiliar with the other riders.

Maybe that's where the stereotype comes from. Maybe Ducks attract a more mature rider. Maturity brings all the things that may turn other people off.

No real proof of any of this just interesting conversation and thought.

Re: Hoping for the weather to change for a ride sat 3-2

I understand and point taken man, the motorcycle stereotypes are dumb if you ask me as we all love to ride and the thrill. Finding a good riding group that'll help you grow, also promote the sport/safety and also look out for each other is key. I'm always down to teach newer riders as I was taught when I was new by the likes of the older members here (Siobhan, Jim Wilson, Jeff Loh, Slo-Jay, etc) and want to pass along a good mentality and responsibility above all. The rider mentality is very key also as it will either help the rider grow or keep from growing. I've met plenty of riders with expensive and high powered bikes who think they're above all due to their electronic packages, etc and get humbled down real quick by either crashing or when they see someone trying 80% less than they are and much faster, smoother and consistent than them. The motorcyclist mentality is very narrow these days and don't understand that seat time, learning your limits and your bike is very important to grow, the false faith the rider gets from all the "goodies" is insane these days. Power and packages don't meant squat if your skill is not honed up. I'll ride with anyone as long as they're not being asshats, I've hosted rides before where I've sent riders packing cause they were extremely hot headed and posed a threat to the group.

Sounds like you guys had a good ride. I'll need to join in on one of these if the weather is good next weekend. Is there going to be a csc beginning of season group ride by chance? Last years meet and ride to palmer lake was great turnout then ride to Fay Myers open house.
