Pretty much, it'd suck to see Hayden be the last American representative in the upper leagues for a while before someone else takes the reigns...

The problem with Nascar is money. It's a media dream ticket. Stuff 70,000 people in a small space to watch whatever. It's not because it's interesting it's because of the investment that media and sponsors have made for a massive advertising campaign for a whole weekend.

While it's certainly not good news, I'm not sure it is quite time to panic and just assume the place will be padlocked or demolished.

NASCAR only serves itself and a very specific spectator demographic who want to see dozens of cars ramming each other at 200 MPH in a giant oval. The people I know who watch NASCAR (yes this is merely anecdotal) could not care less about F1, Le Mans, or any other race series. That's just my $0.02.
Practically every time I mention that I used to road race, or talk about a track day, I immediately have to explain that it's not on a roundy-pounder and it's not in a straight line. Even after they've seen pictures hanging on our walls at home or in Kim's cube at work, they either think we're talking about drag racing or toilet bowl racing. Some even think we're talking about dirt. Furthermore, some don't even know that drag racing is in a straight line. Amazing how clueless American's are when it comes to motorsports!!!!

Re: MMP to close end of Oct 2015

Pretty sad news. Miller was one of the tracks I wanted to ride after moving back to the mainland, looks like I have to now even sooner than planned. Think I'm planning on taking a trip to Utah in September for the full course.

As for NASCAR, yeah, don't understand how the hell people can watch that shit. It sucks that every other Motorsport is pretty much ignored in this country.

The majority of people who occupy this planet (read: this nation) are simple.
Simple people like simple stuff.... Food ordered by number. Two major candidates for supreme ruler. Drive-through car washes. EasyMac.

    NASCAR makes complete sense.

I rarely think of motorcycles without a little yearning. They are about moving, and humans, I think, yearn to move – it’s in our cells, in our desires. We quiet our babies with cyclic movement, and we quiet ourselves by going.

I like EasyMac, and all forms of motor sports. Me and one other guy in the USA watched MXGP the other day.

Glad I was able to ride it a few times. It's a phenomenal track. Sad to hear.

Re: MMP to close end of Oct 2015

I'm going to organize a trip out to Utah to attend a couple track days at MMP before it closes.

I'll be attending the following track days:
    Friday 9-4-15, west config, $200
    Monday 9-7-15, full track, $270

If someone with a trailer wants to team up, I'd like that. We can discuss money and trucks (Mine or yours) after we do it a few times to make sure we're compatible. Otherwise I'll go the back of the pickup truck option.

Someone join me, do more to support the sport than typing on a forum.

I meant PM back and forth. Why are you always thinking in the gutter?

I'd be in for one of these, possibly both. Was wanting to go there regardless before the end of the season, but if we can get a group together, even better.
