    Poudre Caynon

    Been a while, heading out for a ride tomorrow.

    Route as follows:
    Thoco (500 W120th) @ 7:40, KSU @ 8AM
    25--> Lyons--> 7 to Estes --> Devils gulch --> stove prairie --> Poudre caynon --> Horsetooth reservoir road --> Lyons --> P2P --> Coal creek

    Taking the newly alive Z750S, so nothing that fast till I get comfortable with it, then, who knows.

    Let me know

    That sounds like an awesome ride, wish my bike wasn't still taken apart.

    Re: Poudre Caynon

    Ended up being a great ride.

    Started off cool and foggy but was clear by the time I hit Lyons. Very little traffic up 7 to Estes. Took Devils Gulch, which is still under repair from the floods, mix of dirt and gravel with one section that was 1 lane only. Pretty crazy it's still not back together yet.

    Stove Prairie was awesome as always, had some new pavement which was very nice. Took a quick stop for some snacks, then headed north again.

    Poudre Caynon Drive was decent, lots of cars parked along the road from all the people enjoying the river. Saw quite a few groups of rafters and kayaks, looked like a good time. Need to make it there sometime to give it a try.

    Drove past gateway park and had to turn around just to get some photos, got to be one of the prettiest river areas in the state.

    Kept going east, managed to miss a few turns, but eventually made it to Horsetooth Reservoir. Lot of people on the water, but roads weren't too crowded. Did see a few LEO types patrolling the dam road, but no trouble from them.

    Was getting tired, so decided to ax the peak to peak and coal creek portion and just head home. Took 93 from Lyons to Boulder, sat it the typical awful Boulder traffic, then a quick trip down 36 using the new express lanes (which are very nice).

    All in all a pretty solid day. It felt good to finally run some canyons after being away from it for so long.
