Last year I went to Sturgis for the first time, it was impromptu, and last minute. I left Saturday morning, and came home Sunday evening, but didn't want to leave, because there was so much to see... I went back the following weekend! I had to took the Bolt, because the R1 was out of commission, but vowed to come back with a as many other sportbikes as I could get!
UPDATE! We now have a support vehicle coming along - Dick & Christi are bringing their truck (with 1 bike in back), so we can pack our camping stuff in their truck, instead of on the bike! Thanks Dick & Christi!!

Updated departure time! We are planning to leave from my place at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 31st ... It's 400 miles, which will take around 7-8 hours with stops, and get us into Sturgus around 9-10 PM).
We will be camping. Cost is $25 per person, per night (so plan on $50 per person). The campground is about a 4 minute ride, or 15 minute walk from one end of the Strip (the section of Main St. that's closed to everything but motorcycle and pedestrian traffic).
Most of us will be coming back Sunday, August 2nd, leaving shortly after lunch. You can stay as long as you'd like, or ride back with us.
