Motorcycle death numbers are normal according to them huh lol, that's funny. Well maybe if drivers paid attention it wouldn't be an issue. Too many deaths for sure, it's getting out of hand.

This is part of the reason that I've taken an indefinite hiatus from riding. I watched a driver try to make a red light and hit a motorcycle turning left. The motorcyclist was "OK" but it still shook me.

IIRC last season started with a lot of bike crashes but quieted down after May or so.

I've seen plenty of crashes and what not and though it shook me as well but that's not what wants to get me out of the streets, what does is the ignorance of people and their non fuck giving attitude towards all of us riders regardless of what we ride. It amazes me that people don't realize that our literal lives are at stake due to their stupid decisions. I understand that we all take a risk when we ride but to what point do you say "is this worth risking?" We've had many sad news lately of riders not being able to make it home due to cagers making extremely poor decisions on the road. I for one though I hate to say it and hate to see the Duc go but my life is worth more than anything and the risks quadrupled when this state got invaded. Taking the risk of not seeing my friends and my family again due to idiots on the road is not worth it. As I posted on another thread I don't want to scare anyone out of riding on the roads, just please be safe out there and keep your eyes glued to the road and ready for anything. I'm most likely going to race a 250/300 for my first season as its cheap and fun as well. The track is definitely worth more and less risk as weird as that sounds.

Re: Getting Out of hand....rider and passenger down

I agree with everything being said. What can we as riders do to help mitigate these happenings?

Is anywhere here aware of CDOT's initiatives?

    https://www.codot.gov/safety/live-to-ride

    Has anybody seen their billboards?

what about their PSA's like this one? There a few more on their channel.

    https://youtu.be/ev8D0Kf92Kk

If you have an idea, instead of just throwing out a "force cagers to focus/put down the phone/blah blah", figure out how your idea could be implemented.

There is a Motorcycle Operator Safety Board Meeting (MOSAB) meeting 8/28 if anybody is interested in going. It is open to the public...

If anybody wants to know more about how to affect change from the top down, lemme know and I will share. I do not want to provide a bunch of info that will just bore people.

I watched a bike go down today on SB I25 heading towards Castle Rock. Traffic backed up and the gal on the motorcycle didnt give herself an out. A car moved right into her

She was fine but man its hard to watch the tard bags drive around in their cages with their heads completely up their asses.

Re: Getting Out of hand....rider and passenger down

I understand what you're saying Spooph, however no matter how much movement and such, cagers just simply don't care. Facebook and texting is more important than driving safely. The dude from Cali that almost took me out on the way home yesterday was on the phone and was looking down to his phone when this happened, I yelled at him and he could care less, looked at me and went back to looking at his phone. Unfortunately our safety lies in the hands of the unwilling and careless and it's very hard to get through people like that.

Horns are nice.....but I want a set of f#cking Sidewinders mounted. Ban cellphones while driving, with the penalties the same as drunk driving, 4th time is a felony.

    RIP riders.....
