Holy smokes! Glad you're ok Gene, and good thing you were geared up and the lightning didn't injure you worse!

I had lightening hit the tree above our heads about 5AM on the morning of my 19th birthday when me and a couple friends were camped out around a palm tree and THAT was crazy enough, but THIS...... This kind of thing was VERY much on my mind when I was riding the BMW home from the dealer when I bought it and ran right into that tornado-producing storm (6/24/15). Crazy!

Wow crazy, wishing you a speedy recovery.

It says you were on your regular commute home from the Guard. Are you AGR? I thought AGR got full pay and medical benefits?

Yup, covers medical bills, but the fund will help with stuff the Army won't cover. It'll cover meals for Katie and their son in the hospital and while he's recovering, dog sitter, stuff that needs to be done around the house, travel to and from Greeley, and possibly some bike repairs since this sort of accident isn't covered by his insurance.
