A lot of policies, if not all, have an "act of god" clause hidden in the fine print. It usually includes ladders falling off of a truck and into your windshield, too. Damn scammers!!!

According to a post Gene made on the CSC FB page:
I learned the hard way with only having liablity so the bike is a wash. But o well i guess..

It wasnt covered by ins since i only had liablity. I know i know dumb lesson learned. I havent seen my bike other than pics so i had a small hope i could fix it until one of the witnesses said they say it spinning thru the air and the hit a tree. So im just going to guess its done for. Worst case i will drain the fluids, lay it onbits side and put a sheet of glass over it for a coffee table. Gonna start rounding up my change and start saving for another bike.

As for me, i had a chest tube put in on tuesday, my lung was still collapsed a bit due to some fluid and air build up. Today it seems the hole in my lung is closing up so tomorrow they will turn the suction off on the chest tube to see of the lung will hold. If so then the chest tube will be out and i will be able to get home. Aslo finally this evening i came off oxygen, i was getting light headed and dizzy when i walked and stood. All seem to be good to get out of here.tomorrow is 7 days in the hospital, im beginning to get stir crazy. Scorpion gave me a new helmet via fay myers, that was awesome and unexpected.

Dude... you are so fortunate that you are still alive and talking to us. Of course I hope you are able to get some financial relief and eventually maybe even a new bike, but I wish for you most, that you're able to have peace and steely nerve, the next time you are out-&-about in a thunderstorm. The hair on my arms is standing up, just thinking about this.

I rarely think of motorcycles without a little yearning. They are about moving, and humans, I think, yearn to move – it’s in our cells, in our desires. We quiet our babies with cyclic movement, and we quiet ourselves by going.

Thanks Barn. Overall i am just glad to be here both for myself and my family. I will get back out there just as soon as i can, motorcycles are in my blood and has been for the last 16 yrs or so. I will continue to check the weather, might even turn my lightning alert on hahaha. This one got me because i have ridden in the rain and thru tornado producing storms, and this day the black clouds were just over the metro area, i was up north and was surrounded by everyday normal gray clouds, no rain, no wind, no nothing, except one bolt of lightning lol.

Haha not sure about coolest, what kind of idiot trys to battle thor? Haha im finally home just licking my wounds, got the bike delivered by a buddy, there is a huge list of stuff it would need and the weld by the head tube is cracked. So i may look at getting it rewelded if the reat checks out but it will just be a show piece or tinker bike. Probably get another one this winter or next spring.
