    Stabil, Seafoam, Startron?

I've been using (red) Stabil & Seafoam for years during the winter. Anything else out there you've found that is good for treating gas; especially that awful ethanol winter blend?

Best treatment is to buy non-ethanol premium gas at Brad's Conoco (Mississippi & Union). Otherwise, I've been using Seafoam.

I have been using blue Stabil (marine formula) as I read that it is formulated (real word?) for higher ethanol fuels. Can find it at WalMart. Never had an issue so let that jinx me.

For me it is convenient enough to get although I might Seafoam this year just because now.

The dirt bike sits idle a lot, and especially being a carb'd bike I'd like to keep the jets clear. Same with the Truxton. As for the other EFI bikes some treatment would mitigate the effects of ethanol on the rubber fuel lines and gaskets.

    Re: Stabil, Seafoam, Startron?

We use Startron and Helix here at the shop. The Helix works better for keeping water in suspension in the fuel and as a preservative, the Startron works better for rejuvenating slightly stale fuel and mitigating some of the corrosive effects of ethanol.

I've been using Startron for quite a few years now in both carbureted and fuel injected bikes. I add it on every fill-up and have never had any issues with gas going bad even when the bike sits for a few months in the winter.
