Where's a Good Tire Shop That Won't Mess Up My Wheels?

I'm looking for a good tire shop that knows how to mount and balance car tires without scratching up custom wheels and hanging lead weights on the outside of the rims.

How would you like to get roundhouse kicked with a motorcycle?

Never go wrong with discount tire. Just tell them up front not to mess up wheels or they will have to buy you another one. Take pictures of wheels at their location and show it to them. Implying you do not want any blemish once you get ride back

Discount tire on colfax a few years back screwed up a set of Work VS-XX wheels new out of the box and with their district manager, denied everything there onsite in front of customers.

Cost me 1k to get them fixed after that. I do use other discount tire shops now through people that I know personally and they do the work themself.

Re: Where's a Good Tire Shop That Won't Mess Up My Wheels?

I've had the Discount Tire at Santa Fe and Belleview change my tires a bunch of times and never had any issues. Even had them change giant 21 inch rims on a low profile tire; which is very hard. Another time they mounted a used studded low pro tire for me (needed 4 tires on a 17 inch rim); another hard one. If anything Discount has went out of it's way many times to help me out.

If that concerned just take pictures before and tell the person working you are worried and took pictures because you have had problems in past.

Also, my tires weights have always been on inside of rims where you can't see them.

Discount tire here as well, always treated me right. Ask for the stick on weights.

Phil long ford messed up one of my rims once, but they paid to have it fixed, they admitted it was their fault immediately.

Yeah man.... imagine spending over 3k for rims, waiting 4 months to receive them. First day and they are ruined.... But I got to know an asst mgr at another location and he has worked on all my custom stuff since with no issues.

Damn, for that price I hope they are fully forged....and hopefully Volk/Rays. I've always thought they were overkill unless someone is a racer, but they make some nice rims

I went cheap and went with Rotas (Volk copies) and have been happy with them, but i do not race or do rally.

What did you get? or are these some triple gold Daytons for a lowrider....Lowrider shows comes to Denver in June!

I wonder how much a replacement set of carbon fiber wheels for a 2016 Mustang GT350R would cost. If I had one of those, I think I'd get all my tire and wheel stuff done at the dealership.

Well guess you didn't want to tell me what rims you got

Cool video of how they are made:

Oh I see. What type are you planning to get? Just curious as I went through this a while back and went back and forth whether to spend the extra money on fully forged, lighter rims. I really wanted a set of Volks, but ended up not being able to justify the huge price tag. So I went the cheaper route and went with Rota wheels which are fairly popular in the WRX/STI scene. I did hear a few stories of them cracking, but usually it was from abusing them so I took the risk. I've had them over a year and no problems yet. Were about 4lbs lighter than the stock STI rims my car came with. They had some color called hyperblack that I ended up getting. I stayed with 17's this time as just had too many issues with bigger rims and wanted to get the softer ride.

I grew up in New Mexico and lowriders are popular there and a lot of people get wire rims (Daytons) that are triple gold and got for $2k+ each. I've never been into them and even when my friends were getting them I went the "sporty" route and got chrome 7 stars in High School. Everyone would laugh until they realized my rims helped performance while their wide wire rims hurt performance. So anyways, always interested in what people choose since so many routes to go.

Like these (My buddy put these on a Mitsubishi Eclipse )

So far, these are my favorites: http://www.carid.com/maxxim-wheels/m...ed-467744.html

They're going on my 2003 Acura Tl-S to replace the stock wheels.

I've also been thinking hard about selling the TL and getting a 2016 BMW 340i xdrive, but I'd need to convince my wife first. I just had a new timing belt, water pump, thermostat, front motor mount, brakes, and a couple other things done to the car that set me back more than $2500.

    But still:

Those are nice....I like the style! Similar to the Volk/Rays I considered...but $900 each rim and couldn't pull the trigger.

This is company I ended up going with http://www.rotawheels.com/

Those new 340i are impressive. Definitely much better in every aspect than the 335i. Well I work at BMW and have tire machine specifically for run flat and low profile wheels man and I'm super anal about doing shit properly so lmk if you're still looking for someone to get those done. Could use the cash and I won't charge you an arm and a leg.
