And don't forget all the places offering a special "thank you" to all the vets (freebies):

EDIT: Olive Garden seems best; a full free meal!
Olive Garden restaurants will offer a free entrée from a special menu to active-duty military and military veterans. The special menu features six of Olive Garden’s most popular items. Entrées are served with unlimited homemade soup or famous house salad and warm, garlic breadsticks.

Holy crap I missed a free meal! SOB. I hate getting free stuff and rarely do on VDay. I gave 5 years of my life, so many more gave so much more that I've always felt what I gave was insignificant.

    Re: Happy Veterans Day

I took advantage of the V Day deal at The Tavern in DTC. I got a $17 meal for free - just had to show them my DD-214.

Next year Veterans Day is on a Saturday. I'm planning to get as much free stuff as I can. Free food, free oil change, free haircut - try not to pay for a damn thing all day.

I got a free burger at chilis. The tavern's deal sounds a lot better. But I did not have show them my dd form 214. Just told chilis that I am a veteran. I did sport an old olive drab jacket and my cardboard sign..that was proof enuff.
