If I were under the care of a psychiatrist and taking meds because I hear voices, that would not be part of the background check and I could get a gun.

It's like how every year you hear about the "gun show" loophole needs to be closed. Really? What loophole? I've always had to do a background check at a gun show.

Exactly. A good friends mom was just involved with a murder incident where a mental patient came into her medical office and stabbed a doctor to death in Wichita Kansas. The patient did try to buy a gun earlier in the week, but when he couldn't get a gun, took a knife and the result is the same. Dr is now dead.
