Cruiser Down - DOA - Longmont 119 and Sandstone

My son was at Sandstone skate park last night and I had to pick him up early because he was so freaked out. He saw the whole accident ending in a riders death. It happened right in front of the skate park with lots of other kids as witnesses unfortunately. Apparently, his friend was screaming his deceased friends name pretty loudly over and over. My son and I were just talking about riding safety and awareness on the way to the skate park too.

Bummer man, sorry your kid had to see that dude. Is he holding up okay? Speeding through the canyons is just not worth it at all, glad I'm way past that stage. RIP rider

My son is still real freaked out about it all. It was the first time he has witnessed violent death. As for the guy who crashed and his friend, it sounds like it was two cruisers with no gear at all, hauling ass on a straight highway. It also sounds like they might have been drinking.

Wow man, that's insane dude. I don't know how people drink and ride. When I'm on the bike I won't touch a drop of liquor, nothing but soda for me. Sorry to hear man, hope he copes with it okay as the days go by, that had to be some gnarly shit for those kids.
