    Calling Ducati gurus

So long story short, I think the Ducati got too hot today during the Toy run, it died on my best friend and I think it fried the regulator rectifier. Bike has a brand new battery and it had no juice at all when we went to pick it up again, had it towed to the house. Have heard this is an usual problem for Ducati ( specially 1098 ) and unfortunately my bike doesn't fall under the regulator recall. Does anyone know which rectifier I could buy or use as an upgrade as obviously the OEM one is crap

I'll have to do a bit of research, but the Yamaha style MOSFET Regs are usually the best choice. You'll have to do some rewiring as the plugs won't match up. Check your stator before you replace it. I've found the Rick's regulators to be the most reliable, and they carry a one year warranty.
    Thanks, Jim

    Re: Calling Ducati gurus

Did hear of some of the guys on the forum doing the Mosfet FH020AA regulator with the Triumph link leadT2500676 wire and it hooks right up, may just do that. How much would you be able to get those parts for Jim? Going to borrow my friends volt meter and see if I can test the stator tonight when I get home, doubt it's the stator but then again who knows. The fact that the bike was running just fine before it just sat idling at the staging area tells me it overheated the rectifier and fried it

Over on the VFR forums, the MOSFET style regulators are also highly recommended as the Honda OEM ones overheat as well.

I'm sure you already know how to test it, but I did not and came across this video and figured I'd post it:

I'm sure it's toast so not even going to bother testing it lol, found the plug and play kit I need for $120 shipped with an universal bracket... the stator however I will test just for grins, can't ever be too sure.
