    AMB/Mylaps transponders

Haven't purchased one before and wondering what experiences folks have with newer subscription ones vs a used non-subscribe one. The prices seem about the same for new with 5yr and ebay used options.

I've had both and they both work well. I picked up a subscription one (1 year) for this last season because funds were short and I didn't want to spend $300+ on a used non-sub at the time. It worked great and will renew the subscription for next season since I will only be doing a few races. If you get the MyLaps subscription, after the race weekend you get a breakdown of your lap times and results through Speedhive. Not sure if the AMB transponders do that these days or not.

Personally, I like the old style better. Subscription sounds like it sucks to deal with and I have heard a couple cases of renewals glitching. The old ones hold their value pretty well too. They seem like a racing commodity almost.
