Re: Anyone Ever Had a Dog Diagnosed with Bone Cancer?

I lost both of my dogs in December of last year. one was just four years old and had a massive seizure. my older one who was about 11 ended up with a massive growth inside his belly. that's was a super sad December but dozer held on for one more Christmas and then we put him down.

sorry to hear Nate. hopefully they have some options for ya.

So sorry, Nate (and everyone else that's lost their furbabies). It's definitely not an enviable situation... things will eventually get better, but it will take time.

Thanks everyone. He is still going strong so far....sad knowing soon the cancer will hit his brain and I am sure it will be the end.

Salsa, I saw your pic of your dog at the water park....made me smile. Thanks for the book recommendation and I will read it for sure (in middle of long Game of Thrones books now).

Sucks. We put my lab down 5 years ago from a tumor/cancer in her ear. I was willing to try surgery since she likely had years left, but upon exploration it was too deep. I still miss that dummy, just wanted her to meet the kids, but she couldn't make it.

The right thing do do is usually the hardest. Good luck.

Re: Anyone Ever Had a Dog Diagnosed with Bone Cancer?

Leg is getting worse and this weekend it is more swollen and worried the leg will break soon

Went and got him on some CBD for dogs. A place called Heroe's Pets on Wadsworth and Bowles were very helpful on what to get him on, so hoping it helps. I also baked him some marijuana dog treats for the really bad days....figured f*ck it...he may as well go out happy......

Not the bad news I was expecting to see, but I get it. Family always comes first.

bro super sorry for your loss.

as for the time for your furry buddy to make his journey is a difficult one. then the guilt afterwards. the did I do it too soon.

dozer was easier for me. I was able to have an amazing couple of last days. he ate all the good people food and we even went to where I used to take him camping all the time. I gave him an amazing last day that included a great car ride and the bacon ultimate cheeseburger from Jack in the box.

I made the choice to end things before they got too bad. I was able to give him some amazing last few days and be by his side for the end. he wasn't in much pain. the loyalty he gave me demanded I give him the best. I feel I did so. I have no regrets with him. all my friends and family got to say goodbye. he loved every moment of all the attention.

Thanks everyone. We did put Bubba down on Wednesday as it was time. I miss him but also glad he isn’t suffering anymore.
