Make your bike track ready with the flick of a switch

    hi everyone!

I've been wondering how many people would think that by having a switch or two to kill the tail and head lights on a street legal bike to make it ok to use on the track would be useful in a plug-in system with no/minor wire splicing?

I apologize if I should have put this in one of the product forums but I figured more track day fanatics would find this topic here.

    Thanks.

When you are doing track days, it isn't so much killing the light that comes off the headlight and tail light as it is taping them over so they (hopefully) don't shatter into a million peices if you eat it. Also, a kill switch to the lights still wouldn't make the bike race legal.

just pull the fuse out for ur lights

but that switch would be nice if someone for some stupid reason was running from the cops for who knows why at night, and acidently hit the switch making it so the pursuing officer couldn't see you which might be another reason why someone for some stupid reason would have the cops on their tail.
-hehe, it was CSC correct. Not politically though

None of the tracks around here require tapeing lights, or any other prep for that matter. You can just pull the fuse(s) for headlights to keep the tape from baking on, and you can usually just disconnect the tail/brake light. Splicing anything into your wiring harness is just adding a potential trouble point.

Thanks for the responses guys, Fly Boy is on to something; lol. I initially thought about the idea and installed it on my bike for umm... lets just say similar reasons and figured you have to do the same thing for the track so why not. Anyway I'm just kind of trying to find out if anyone thought it would be worth it if I could build these devices for your bikes for like 20 bucks with all wires sottered / professionaly done, and since we're all in CO I could install them as well for a couple beers L8ter.
