    looking to head out east....

Hey all...yup....you heard that right...heading to east from colorado springs ha ha. anyhow, i guess you can consider me an adventure rider so was wondering if anyone has been out east...away from the mountains. Anything i should worry about? less traffic? might just ride around looking for lakes and restaurants

Nothing out there but tumble weeds. If you like flat (no, not women) and straight and boring, that's your best bet, head East...

East of the Springs is .... well... um... cows and stuff. Check out Calhan Paint Mines, not too far east of the springs. A bit northeast is Castlewood Canyon. Riding wise, it's mostly straight rolling hills on country back roads once you're off the main highways.

I'm pretty sure a sailing club does more group motorcycle rides than CSC.

I’ve put some rides but nobody comes out anymore , I was rather surprised that we had as many people as we did that last time. Problem being also is that I don’t haul ass at all so people find it boring to ride with me so that’s why I ride by myself or with some good friends I’ve known for a while cause they don’t mind. I already got the stupid out of me in the canyons years ago, I’m well past that stage plus I love low insurance rates more lol

Not unless you leave at like 6 am and even then you have to worry about low temps and animals crossing at that time lol, there’s no winning.

ill ride with you....for years ive been in motorsports and now im a little older, i think im starting to like going slower. Its fun going fast, but I cant increase my risk than it is now ha ha. if you dont mind riding with a dual sport klx250, def would like to have a riding buddy when I get my MSF endorsement next week. I think i should pass it since ive been pretty good at turns and braking at slow speeds (i hope haha)

actually why I joined here, hopefully I can find a riding buddy who goes a bit a slower than normal..check out restaurants, side trails etc

Oh dude anyone welcome no matter what you ride on my rides or skill level, I remember a few years back ASP_125 and a few other of us who are a bit seasoned now used to take a couple of newer riders out and teach them/show them the ropes a bit, we had some decent success with the people that attended those rides and they were a ton more comfortable riding after the fact and stuff from what they told us, may revive that but we'll see as the season really starts and will also be putting some rides together and see if we can revive this shit show

ya man send me an INV when the season comes! ive been riding everyday on my local streets by myself..practicing drivers who pull lefts on me to increase my reaction time as crazy as it sounds...count total is 4 so far lol figured it will help me. the real test would be out by tarryall where its an undivided road 1 way. Might install strobe lights for that area though..not sure if thats a good idea though
