Have you ever wondered if your gun will fire in a crash

I know I have, and I found out last Saturday that it will not. Well, at least mine didn't go off.

A car changed lanes on me in a turn and I crashed. Fortunately, I was on my WR. The R1 would have been totaled! Anyway, slid on my left side and ground down the left side of my Springfield 1911 Champion. It tore the thumb safety off and that mechanism is completely useless, now. It doesn't engage with anything, now. The grip safety still works.

When I picked myself up, I saw my holster about thirty feet down the road. And there's my gun another twenty feet from the holster. So, along with grinding up over $2,000 in gear, I lost my 1911, too. That sucks!!

You know, it would have been funny if it had fired and hit the idiot that crashed me!!

Glad you walked away from what it sounds like. Christ, fucking cagers. Sorry about the 1911.

Sorry to hear man. Glad you are OK!

The streets are getting more and more crazy. I decided a few months ago to convert the Duck to a track bike and leave the streets to the crazies for a while.

    Be careful out there!

I rarely think of motorcycles without a little yearning. They are about moving, and humans, I think, yearn to move – it’s in our cells, in our desires. We quiet our babies with cyclic movement, and we quiet ourselves by going.

Never have liked Glock. Doesn't feel right in my hands. I want the same damn 1911 I already had! But like everything, they only make it for so long.

It'll be another Springfield or Colt.

You may look into the Gen 4 Glock's, with all the different back straps that come with them, it helps to make them fit better. I've got two of the G19x's(Gen 5) and love the way they fit and I use the medium beaver tail back strap. My G41(Gen 4) was the same, liked all of the different back straps, however ended up running it without any of them as that's what felt best.

I will say, some of the older(Gen 1-3) Glock's aren't for everyone. But the newer ones do have a lot more modular attributes to them.

Bummer about the crash least you walked away from it, I would of been worried someone could have snagged my gun sliding across the ground and drove off with it.

I'm actually pretty tore up. Small amount of road rash where my jacket lifted on the left side. Make sure everything is full zip from now on. Mainly lots of sore spots (ribs, shoulders) and bruises from impacts. Road, curb, etc.

It's a WR! You can throw it off a twenty-foot cliff (and I have) and it'll be fine!
